Employee Spotlight - Paul Travis
Paul Travis has been a part of the Novo family for over 40 years, and with that, he has come to experience the company with many different people. Learn more about Paul’s journey at Novo Building Products below!
Paul Travis has been working in the Logistics Department as a truck driver for over 40 years. Beginning in 1981 as a part-time driver, he quickly made it his full-time career in August of 1982. Being a truck driver comes with many different responsibilities, but the most important aspect is to deliver the product in a safe and timely manner to all Novo customers.
One of the most important aspects of Paul’s job is the equipment he is given to complete his runs. The Novo Marketing team had the chance to meet up with Paul over at the Zeeland branch when he was in town for a short stop. While he was there, we had the opportunity to get a full tour of the brand new Novo trucks. This included the top-of-the-line cab features and new branding. Along the way, we were able to capture some great photos and videos of the truck and Paul.
While all of the equipment and tools have definitely seen change over the past 40 years, many other aspects of Paul’s job have stayed the same. “My office window is my windshield, and my view is constantly changing.”
Another piece of his job that brings Paul joy is the many different contacts that he has met throughout the years that turned into lifelong friends, along with the many different places he has had the opportunity to see and visit. So, what place is his all-time favorite? His favorite location in the world is Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.
In his free time where he is not spending his days on the road or on the job, he enjoys time with his family, along with hunting during the season and tinkering in his garage.
While many things have stayed the same in his life, he has been able to watch this company grow and thrive into what it is today.
“When I started for the company, there was only one warehouse and 3 drivers. We had to tarp every load. We have come a long way since then. It has been an incredible experience watching this company adjust and grow over the last 40 years.”
